We started Grow Your Own Food Nursery because we believe that every family deserves that connection — and the right plants to make it happen.

When the pandemic hit, it opened a lot of our eyes. Supply chains broke down, shelves went empty, and we all realized just how dependent we'd become on big corporations for something as fundamental as food. We wanted to be part of the solution. So we built a nursery around a simple idea: give people access to the best, rarest, and most productive edible plants out there, and help them grow their own food at home.

We're based in Modesto, California, and we ship across the country. We specialize in hard-to-find varieties — rare heirloom peppers, edible cacti, unique fruit trees, and herbs you won't find at your local garden center. Everything we carry produces something you can actually eat, because that's the whole point.

We're not just a store. We're a community of growers — beginners and seasoned gardeners alike — who believe in plant diversity, food independence, and the joy of harvesting something you grew yourself.
